Christmas Art Stocking Stuffers 2025

Christmas Art Stocking Stuffers 2025

Christmas Art Stocking Stuffers 2025

I know I am a bit late to the game uploading my Christmas lists, but if you are stuck for ideas of what to buy your loved ones this Christmas, that artist in your life that has everything, here are some excellent stocking stuffer ideas they will love to have.

I have not added the items in any particular order, just a random list of art supplies that I have personally reviewed and used over the years. Each item in the list, I have also added a link back to the original review just incase you would like to learn more about the item before purchasing it. All you need to do is click the relevant link and you will be automatically taken to the original YouTube review I completed.

1. Ann Kullberg Color Magazine Subscription

This recommendation is a bit of a cheeky one, but nevertheless, based on the fact I submit three articles to the magazine every month; this is a gift that keeps on giving all year round to the colored pencil artists loved on in your live. The Ann Kullberg Color Magazine is in my opinion the finest monthly publication on the market primarily focused toward colored pencil artists.

Each month you can subscribe to a digital copy which you can read on your tablet, you can have a traditional magazine format sent to your home or you can subscribe to receive both formats. Every month colored pencil artists share their tips and techniques, there are tutorials to help you refine your own skills, written reviews each month from yours truly and the most favourite article I write is called “Color IQ” where I write about a different color, its historical birth and so much more.

2. Caran d’Ache Aquarelle Palette

This little simple piece of kit is included in almost every list I create, a friend introduced me to this amazing plastic palette a few years back and this palette on its on, opened my eyes to the possibilities of watercolour pencils, water soluble markers, pastels etc. If you enjoy using watercolour pencils, markers, pastels etc, you are going to absolutely love the Caran d’Ache Aquarelle Palette.

Essentially this is a thin piece of plastic with a rough textured side and smooth surfaced opposite side, there is a thumb hole at the end of the palette so the artists can easily hold the palette while mixing colors. When I first introduced this on my website I had loads of people say that cheaper versions could be used, for example plastic chopping boards etc. Since then almost everyone has returned and said that the Caran d’Ache Palette is unique, that the cheaper alternatives just don’t behave like the caran d’Ache palette.

3. Derwent Water Brushes

For any artists out and about, taking the old watercolour journal into the field, along with some watercolour pencils or watercolour pans, these beautiful water brushes from Derwent make that journey a much more practical and pleasant one.

With a selection of 4 different brush types or nibs, the actual handle of each brush is your clean water and because the water flows from the handle into the brush, you always have clean water and never dirty water. WE have all seen water brushes, so many companies produce them, but this set from Derwent is my absolute favourite, the way they feel in the hand, their aerodynamic design, brush quality and water flow control.

4. Etchr Field Case

This one is a little bit pricey but would be a perfect stocking stuffer and any artist that receives this gorgeous Etchr Field Case will love you forever. Obviously the Etchr Field Case is best suited to those artists who are love taking their art pursuits out into the great outdoors, however I use mine every single day and being disabled don’t have the luxury or painting or drawing in the wild.

The Etchr Field Case is made from a sturdy, water proof material, but this small looking field case is incredibly deceptive. Like the Dr Who Tardis, it looks small on the outside, but is massive on the inside. As you can see from the images the amount of materials you can comfortably get into the Etchr Field Case is simply remarkable, click on the link if you would like to know more about this amazing product before you buy it.

5. M & R Brass Handheld Sharpener.

This might be a small item to be dropped into anyones stocking, but I promise you, any pencil artist is going to love this little sharpener. the only thing I would say is, if the person you are buying this for has trouble with their hands, like arthritis etc, a small handheld sharpener no matter what the company, would be problematic.

This little M & R Brass sharpener is the one I use all the time and it provides a needle sharp point. What I really love about the M & R Sharpener is the spare blades you can buy for it. A pack of spare blades come with 10 blades and each one is razor sharp, when you replace a blade and start using it, the wood from the barrel is removed like butter.

6. Derwent Carry All Bag

The Derwent Carry All Bag is essential for all colored pencil artists, the bag can be changed to suit your needs with removing or adding internal leaves. Inside each Derwent Carry All Bag, there is a ring binder style spine and the bag comes with what Derwent like to call leaf’s. Each leaf has elastic pencil holders, holding a total capacity of 22 pencils on one side and 22 on the other, each leaf carrying a totally of 44 pencils.

When you buy a brand new Derwent Carry All Bag it comes with three leaves, totalling a capacity of carrying 132 pencils. However, you can buy additional leaves and add them to you bag. My Carry All Bags carry 220 pencils each, allowing me to bring with me anywhere I go a substantial collection of pencils. There are also pockets on the bag ends which allow you to place other accessories such as erasers, sharpeners etc.

7. Caran d’Ache Grafwood Graphite Set.

The Caran d’Ache Grafwood Graphite pencils are among some of the best graphite pencils I have ever used, occasionally some graphite sets, especially the H grade pencils can be a bit gritty, not with the Caran d’Ache Grafwood.

This set of 15 Caran d’Ache Grafwood Graphite pencils is the perfect compact set of graphite pencils to be placed in anyones stocking. The set comprises of 4H, 3H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B and finally a rich dark 9B; all the grades you are going to need to create your next graphite master piece.

8. Derwent Pencil Wrap

The Derwent Pencil Wrap is perfect for taking your pencils out and about with you or simply rolling out on your studio desk, keeping all your pencils neat and tidy whilst establishing easy access when required. The Derwent Pencil Wrap holds a total of 24 pencils, but rolls up into a tidy roll for easy storage.

With strong elastic loops through the centre of the wrap, all of your pencils will be kept securely in place. Along the bottom of the wrap, where the core of the pencil is situated when placed in the elastic hoops, there is a protective plastic fold, ensuring that the core of your pencils are well protected.

9. Hahnemühle Watercolour Sketchbook With Deckled Edge

Every artist, be they graphite, watercolour, colored pencil or mixed media, loves a good quality sketchbook, a sketchbook with incredibly high quality paper and the desired effect of deckled edging. The deckled edging doesn’t of course improve the quality of the paper, but it certainly does add to the beauty of the book.

Hahnemühle is a wonderfully reputable company where paper quality is concerned and their sketchbooks are no different. This Watercolour Sketchbook would be a welcomed addition to any artists collection, providing a beautiful surface for all kinds of art genres, colored pencil, watercolour, pastel, graphite or mixed media etc. This sketchbook sports 120lb cold pressed pages, with a total of 60 pages and an overall size of 6 x 8.1 inches or 15.3 x 20.5 cm.

10 Caran d’Ache Neocolor II 15 Set

The Caran d’Ache Neocolor II are a wax type pastel that is also water-soluble, the Neocolor II are a favourite among artists all over the world based on their high pigment levels. The Caran d’Ache Neocolor II has a total count of 84 colors, but due to the water soluble nature of the medium, a small set of 15 will go a long way.

With a selection of 15 highly pigmented, lightfast, water soluble Caran d’Ache Neocolor II pastels, almost any color is achievable with a little color theory knowledge. The colors in the set are as follows Yellow, Orange, Vermillion, Scarlet, Purple, Violet, Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Turquoise Blue, Emerald Green, Yellow Green, Ochre, Brown, Black and White.
