The artwork in this post was created as a way of demonstrating the Deli Colored Pencils recently reviewed by The Art Gear Guide. If you would like to know more about the Deli Colored Pencils you can check out my YouTube Review or read my written review. I have also completed a speed drawing video of this artwork coming to life, if you would like to watch that, simply follow the link.
The artwork in this post is a result of reviewing the Bruynzeel Colored Pencils. I have a lot of admiration for the Bruynzeel line purely based on past and present reviews, almost every review I have completed has developed favourable results, in line with cost etc.
The artwork in this post has been created using the Phoenixcolor Colored Pencils, which in my opinion are the most beautiful colored pencils in the world. Take the packaging and design of the pencils away, and you are still left with a well balanced, pleasurable colored pencil set to use.
This work was completed on Strathmore 500 Series Bristol Plate which is a smooth surface and 100% cotton, so it works really well with the markers and colored pencil combined. In this drawing I used Copic Markers and a few Arrtx Markers as well for the detail.
I think this period in our lifetimes has been incredibly challenging, COVID-19 or Coronavirus I think has really taken the world by surprise and has also shaped and new world for many people, some for the better and some not so good. When the lockdown was announced I thought that I would be able to get a lot of reviews done and help to keep you guys entertained. However, I have to be honest and tell you all that it has effected me and my family perhaps a lot more than we could have ever imagined.
I am a huge fan of the UFC which for those of you who may not know, it is Mixed Martial Arts MMA and within the sport my two favourite fighters are Nick and Nate Diaz. As Nate Diaz has just fought in a huge fight in Madison Square Garden, I really wanted to try and draw both the Diaz Brothers.
This was one of the first drawings that I used almost every art supply I had at my disposal. Normally when I am dong a drawing, I am doing it with a particular company in mind to coincide with a review I may have already done or be in the process of doing and so I use just that companies products.
I absolutely love looking at botanical art, especially colored pencil and watercolor art in this genre, so I decided to give it a go for the very first time. Ordinarily if I was going to do a piece like this I would have recorded it for a speed drawing and I would have used my special paper, the Strathmore 500 Series Bristol Plate, however, I wasn't very confident and was quite cautious.
I wanted to draw something for Halloween and also something using just colored pencils, in particular my new 150 set of Prismacolor Premier pencils on Strathmore Toned Tan. As always I have included a speed drawing of this process on my YouTube channel and here on the site I have added progress images from start to finish.
So another one of my projects. I originally seen this drawing on an awesome artists Instagram site called Stephen Ward and so I decided to have ago myself. One of the biggest problems I face with drawing is portraiture. The reasonI chose this particular image was due to the fact that it is only half a face.
This is my work in progress art, WIP, of Boba Fett, Star Wars character. To see a list of the materials used for this piece, click the link and open the page.
